Actor Jackie Chan’s daughter Etta Ng and her girlfriend have released a video claiming that they are homeless and sleeping under a bridge because of “homophobic parents”.
Thank you to all of those who have shown love and support towards @stolenmilktea and I. We appreciate everyone's kind words and it's honestly giving us more energy to fight for what's right. We will continue to share our journey and hope we can help others along the way. Let's make this world a peaceful and understanding one. #pansexual #lgbtqai #loveislove #lovealwayswins #queer #loveyourself
In the video, Etta Ng Chok Lam introduces herself as “Jackie Chan’s daughter”, and says she’s in Canada with her girlfriend Andi Autumn.
“Hi, I’m Jackie Chan’s daughter, and this is my girlfriend Andi,” she says. “We’ve been homeless for a month due to homophobic parents. We pretty much slept under a bridge and other things.”
Autumn, who is said to be 30, added: “Yeah. I’ve asked all my friends for help, and I’ve asked all my family for help and everyone just keeps sending us to the direction of shelters where they know we will be split up. We will be split up if we have to go to any kind of government facilities and no one on my Facebook is going to listen to me and now no one is responding to my phone calls.”
Ng, who is 18 years old, is the daughter of Jackie Chan and former beauty queen Elaine Ng, who he had an extramarital affair in 1999. Though Chan has acknowledged the affair, he rarely speaks of his daughter in public.
According to Yahoo, her mother had filed a missing person report after she found out Ng quit her job and became “unreachable” to her friends and family.
Ng’s mother also denounced her daughter’s claims, saying she needs to find a job.
“I feel that if they have no money, they should go find work,” she said. “They shouldn’t film a clip telling others they are broke and who Etta’s father is. People all over the world work hard and don’t rely on someone else’s fame to get money.”
