Islamabad United qualifies for the playoff after beating Quetta Gladiators in a nail biting last ball finish. Quetta needed just five runs in the last over but birthday boy Mohammad Sami had other ideas. He just gave away 3 runs to win the match for his side.
Islamabad United won the toss and chose to bat first. Restricted Quetta restricted Islamabad to 165 for the loss of six wickets. There was some impressive display of batting by Islamabad United. Hussain Talat the debutant scored 56 off 39 balls.

Chasing 166 Quetta was looking very strong. At one stage things were under control for Quetta. Despite half centuries from Ahmed Shehzad (59) and Kevin Pietersen (69) Quetta could not finish the match on a high note.
