
Prominent lawyer and human rights icon Asma Jahangir passed away on Sunday after suffering from cardiac arrest.
Asma was 66 years old. Her funeral will be held at Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday.
Born in Lahore on January 27, 1952, Jahangir completed her bachelors of arts and law from Lahore and then went on to pursue higher legal studies from Switzerland, Canada and US.
Asma was known for her outspoken nature. She received several awards, including a Hilal-e-Imtiaz in 2010 and a Sitara-e-Imtiaz.
Asma was not only famous in Pakistan but also recognized globally. Many Bollywood celebrities expressed their sentiments on losing Jahangir.
