PEMRA bans promotion of Valentine’s Day on media

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) issued instructions to all TV channels against airing any programme promoting Valentine’s Day on February 14 in light of the Islamabad High Court’s order dated February 13, 2017.

The notice read, “respondents are directed to ensure that nothing about the celebrations of Valentine’s Day and its promotion is spread on electronic or print media. No event shall be held at the official level or at any public place.”
