According to NDTV, a lady who had refused to marry the man her parents had chosen for her summoned him to a “surprise meet” in which she reportedly gashed his neck and left him bleeding.
The victim, Ramu Naidu, has been admitted to the hospital with a serious cut in his neck. He works with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research as a scientist (CSIR).
Pushpa, the accused, is a 22-year-old high school dropout. She had purchased three knives before the “surprise date,” according to the police.

“The woman has no criminal background,” said S Gowthami, a senior police official.
Pushpa told the police that her parents would to listen to her when she refused to marry Naidu, so she took matters into her own hands and attacked him.
