The model then revealed that doctors at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) concluded that three factors may have contributed to her condition: starting birth control pills while suffering from migraines, a possible side effect of Covid-19, and sleeping the entire flight from and to Paris without much physical movement.

In the video, Hailey also discussed how more tests indicated she had a Grade 5 PFO, or patent foramen ovale, which is a hole in the heart that should have closed on its own after birth but did not, necessitating a heart operation. “I consider myself really fortunate to have had the means and family support to cope with this as swiftly as I did,” she added.

A PFO is typically “detected during examinations for other health concerns,” according to Dr Pai. “Genetic causes of PFO exist, and it can result in poor oxygen supply and stroke. PFOs have been found in persons with unexplained strokes and migraines with aura, according to research (also called classic migraine). PFO symptoms include migraines and stroke. To assist one get back on track, medication or a catheter-based treatment to close the PFO might be used. “Avoid valsalva technique, which includes straining while passing stools, excessive laughing, and protracted bouts of cough, to prevent stroke related to PFO,” he stated.
