During Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s visit to Holland this week, their private security officers are not permitted to carry guns.
The royal couple has been informed of the decision, since they are scheduled to attend the Invictus Games opening ceremony on Saturday, April 16.
The Dutch government has announced that Meghan and Harry’s private security guards would not be armed during their visit to the country.
“No, only government employees (police, military people, etc.) are authorised to carry guns in the Netherlands,” police spokesperson Anna Sophia Posthumus responded when asked if the royal couple’s private guards are allowed to carry weapons.
However, according to sources, the Dutch police may grant Meghan and Harry ‘VIP status.’
