Peta Murgatroyd and Maks Chmerkovskiy are spending some quality time together.
The 35-year-old former Dancing with the Stars pro shared cuddled-up photographs with her hubby — embracing and kissing — on Thursday during a brief vacation to Ojai, California, on Instagram.
Murgatroyd captioned the photo, “Ojai for a hot minute.”
It’s been a difficult few months for the couple, who have been married since 2017 and have a 5-year-old son named Shai Aleksander.

“I went through so many horrible things when I was there,” Chmerkovskiy remarked at the time. “But I believe the saddest part was knowing that I had a secure place to stay when others didn’t. Some were elderly, while others were young parents with children. It was a disaster… I was in excruciating pain.”
A worried Murgatroyd contacted her husband every morning (6 a.m. his time) while he was in Ukraine to check how he was doing.
“A nice thing is that it has brought us closer together,” she told PEOPLE alongside Chmerkovskiy in that same interview, despite how distressing it was.
After launching a large-scale invasion on February 24 — the first serious land battle in Europe in decades — Russia’s onslaught on Ukraine has continued.
In March, Murgatroyd shared her feelings regarding her husband’s choice to return to the area to aid others in a Q&A session on her Instagram Story.
“I’m OK. However, there are so many ‘things’ going on that it’s difficult to keep track of them all “In answer to a fan’s inquiry regarding her husband’s trip to Poland, she responded. “I was anxious and hesitant at first, and I didn’t want him to leave. But I’m confident he made the proper choice.”
“He wasn’t going to be able to remain and watch. I’m just pleased with myself “At the time, she continued. “However, I do have my worrisome days!”
