Anoushey Ashraf, a popular programme host, has defended former first lady Bushra Bibi, who has been the subject of intense scrutiny since her husband, former Prime Minister Imran Khan, was deposed.
In an interview with actor Shaan Shahid for HUM News recently, the PTI chairman remarked, “Bushra Bibi is a wonderful person in my life. We are able to look after our visitors because of her. When the American ambassador arrived at my house, I was living alone. My house assistant was rushing to prepare something for the guest to eat, so he got a packet of biscuits, wrapped it up, and set it in front of him.”
He claims that his wife keeps an eye on him when she is away to ensure that he is accommodating. “She is really rigorous about taking care of visitors, and if I don’t do it, she is strict with me as well,” Imran explained to the presenter of the show.
The 38-year-old television personality re-posted a video clip of the former premier praising his wife’s hospitality on Instagram. He was all praise for his wife, who looks after their visitors at their Bani Gala home.
“Bushra Bibi has been subjected to intense scrutiny, despite her decision to avoid the media,” he stated.
Furthermore, Ashraf stated that everyone has been especially “mean” to her recently, and that she would want to meet her one day.
Bushra Bibi has stayed out of the spotlight as the first lady, preferring to work behind the scenes on numerous philanthropic endeavours. When Imran was sworn in as Prime Minister, she was chastised for wearing a face cover.
Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi married in the company of close relatives and friends earlier this year. Khan’s third marriage after his divorce from Reham Khan in late 2015.
