A Snapchat filter that makes you appear to be crying is gaining popularity. However, it is for the wrong reasons. The filter is thought to have been inspired by Amber Heard’s collapse during the Johnny Depp defamation trial.
The firm, on the other hand, refuted any such allegations. They claim that the filter was in preparation for six months prior to its social media debut, despite the fact that the Machete Kills actress has only been in court for a week.
Representatives for the photo-sharing app told TMZ that there was no connection between the filter and the ongoing trial with the Aquaman actress. The sobbing filter is said to be intended to complement the newly launched smiling filter.
The filter is a type of augmented reality lens that may be applied to people’s faces. This gives the impression that they are crying.
On the other hand, there is a lot of viral information about the trial on social media. The majority of them ridicule and dismiss Amber Heard’s account. Variety reports that videos with the hashtag #amberturd have been seen over 1.2 billion times.
Several of these videos have been banned from TikTok because they violate the app’s community guidelines, which prohibit;
“Content that disparages victims of violent tragedies”.
However, some Amber Heard recordings are still available on the video-sharing app. According to TikTok;
“We remove expressions of abuse, including threats or degrading statements intended to mock, humiliate, embarrass, intimidate or hurt an individual.”
Despite this, there are still multiple videos on the platform featuring Amber Heard’s testimony.
