
OKARA — On Thursday, a model was allegedly murdered by her brother for the sake of ‘honour’ in a village in the province of Okara.
Sidra (22) was killed by her brother in Okara’s hamlet 51R while visiting her birthplace for Eidul Fitr.
The body of the slain woman was transported to the hospital for a postmortem while the inquiry was continuing, according to local police.
The homicide was thought to be the result of a violent argument between the brothers over the girl’s refusal to give up her modelling career. Meanwhile, authorities have yet to apprehend the murderer.

According to Human Rights Watch, violent attacks against women continue to be a severe concern in Pakistan, with more than 1,000 such occurrences documented each year.
