Katy Perry has always gotten a lot of attention on social media for her outlandish clothing choices, whether on the red carpet or on TV appearances.
This time, the Roar singer had recently worn the Ariel mermaid costume for the newest Disney-themed edition of American Idol, which aired on Sunday.
Perry uploaded a video of her hilarious fall on Instagram, explaining that she wasn’t comfortable in her mermaid costume, which is why she fell off the chair at the start of the show.
The host, Ryan Seacrest, was seen reacting in horror after his introduction was interrupted by a shattering bang.
Later, the camera moved to the crooner, who had fallen out of her chair and needed the assistance of her co-judges, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.
The video of her fall went viral on social media, and not only fans but also the singer had a good chuckle over it.
“Flippin’ your fins you don’t get too far,” she captioned the photo.
