Aamir Liaquat’s funeral prayers to be offerd after Namaz-e-Asr at the shirne of Abdullah Shah Ghazi

Aamir Liaquat Hussain was the son of politician Sheikh Liaquat Hussain and journalist Mahmooda Sultana. He was born in Karachi on July 5, 1971.

Hussain began his career as a televangelist when he joined Geo Television in 2001 to broadcast Aalim Online, a religious programme. In 2010, he quit Geo TV to host many Ramzan transmissions and game shows on other private broadcasters.

In 2002, he ran for the NA-249 parliamentary constituency in Karachi on the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s ticket.

In 2018, the television personality and politician ran for election and won the NA-245 national assembly constituency in Karachi. Hussain, on the other hand, was running on PTI platform this time.

In April of this year, he left the PTI, just as Khan was facing a vote of no confidence from the opposition parties.

Hussain has had three marriages. At the age of 50, he passed away on Thursday.
