The Chief Minister’s Office has announced that Sardar Awais Leghari, a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MP from Dera Ghazi Khan, will deliver the provincial budget for 2022-23 in the Punjab Assembly on Monday (today).
On May 30, an eight-member cabinet was sworn in as the first phase of the cabinet formation, however none of them has been assigned a portfolio due to discrepancies in portfolio distribution between the coalition parties — the PML-N and the PPP.
On Sunday, Sardar Leghari received the budget address and was briefed on the budget-related legislative activities.
The chief minister has delegated the assembly business of the Finance Department to Provincial Minister Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari for the upcoming budget session due to the non-availability of the minister in-charge, according to a notification issued by the CM office.
Meanwhile, on the chief minister’s orders, MPA Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan has been allocated to the department of Law and Parliamentary Affairs due to the absence of the minister in charge.
