In Berlin, a motorist climbed the curb and mowed down a gathering, killing a teacher and injuring 11 of her students.
Before crashing into a key Berlin department store, the silver Renault Clio mounted the pavement and drove down dozens of people.
At least 30 persons were injured, with six receiving life-threatening injuries and three receiving serious injuries.
Only one person died. According to Bild, one of the victims was a 51-year-old teacher who was leading a group of 24 students from Hesse in central Germany when the automobile crashed into them in front of an H&M.
A pregnant mother was also injured, while another teacher in the group had a shattered hip.
The driver has since been identified as Gor H, a 29-year-old man who was arrested and is currently being checked in hospital.
He was known to the cops, and his flat was ransacked by them as they tried to figure out why he did it.
According to Bild, an investigator stated that it was “certainly not an accident” and that the actions of “someone on a rampage, an ice cold killer” were involved.
“He was driving at top speed. At no point did he slow down,” one witness said.
It was previously stated that he left a confession note, but police have now claimed that documents and posters connected to his “expressed beliefs” on Turkey were discovered inside.
As emergency crews work at the scene, pictures reveal the destruction from the incident, with the automobile smashing through the shop window.
After being struck by the vehicle, one horrifying shot shows the teacher laying dead behind a blanket.
After attempting to flee the scene, the car’s driver was reportedly apprehended by a member of the public.
“All of a sudden, blue lights appeared everywhere.” “A throng of police officers surrounded the man,” one eyewitness stated.
“With the officers holding him, he emerged from a side street off Douglas and was given medical attention first.”
“They took him away after that.” He appeared to be immobile. “Without further ado, he had himself arrested.”
At least 30 people are claimed to have been hurt in the incident, which occurred in Berlin’s major shopping district at around 10.30 a.m. local time (9.30 a.m. BST).
The car mounted the pavement at Rankestrasse and Tauentzienstrasse and struck pedestrians before going onto the road and then back onto the pavement for another 200 metres before crashing into a department store, according to police.
The incident occurred near the city’s zoo, near the historic Kaiser-Wilhelm Church, and directly across from the location of the 2016 Christmas market terror assault.
Actor John Barrowman, who was present at the moment of the accident, has posted a dramatic video from the incident.
“We believe we have witnessed a terrorist incident here in Berlin, but we’re not sure,” the Doctor Who star wrote. “There are a lot of people, dead bodies all over the place, and we’ve seen a car that came down the road and ended up in a storefront covering three city blocks it’s very horrible.”
He stated he saw a “dead body in the middle of the road” and a group of people “walking with him” in a subsequent video.
The Sun Online has seen video of the aftermath of the incident, which is too horrific to publish. It shows a number of dead scattered across the road.
A silver Renault Clio can be seen jutting out of a department store building front, and police and fire crews have been seen at the scene.
The Berlin Fire Department says 60 emergency personnel are on the scene or on their way to a “major casualty situation.”
A state of emergency has also been declared by the fire department.
Five individuals were severely hurt and three were seriously injured, according to spokesman Adrian Wentzel.
There were 130 emergency professionals on the site, according to police.
At Breitscheidplatz, heavily armed police were also stationed, and the area was cordoned off.
