
On Friday afternoon, earthquakes were detected in Islamabad and parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The earthquake, which had a magnitude of 5.2, struck around 2:22 p.m., according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department. The epicentre was near the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border, with a depth of 220 kilometres, according to the Met Office.
According to news reports, tremors were felt in Rawalpindi, Murree, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Charsadda, Abbottabad, Diamer, Faisalabad, Multan, Mansehra, Balakot, and Chilas
The earthquakes were felt in waves, and locals rushed outside as soon as they began.
Initial reports suggests there has been no loss of life, however, the severe shocks are likely to have damaged property.
