Experts feel Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s security bid is ’emotive,’ since they would require ‘rapport and trust’ from their staff to make it all happen.
Simon Morgan, a former security specialist, was interviewed by The Mirror.
“Security at that level is very much founded around rapport and trust – your responsibility is to allow them to lead their lives and preserve life,” he was quoted as adding.
“People like members of the royal family generally have security from birth to death and tight protection that follows them.”
“I can understand both sides of the debate with Prince Harry; it’s a highly emotional matter.” He grew up under constant police protection.”
“He would have come to value his protection team and would have seen its value,” Mr Morgan added.
“But from a UK perspective, there is a duty of care – and if there was a threat that became that great they would deliver some form of protection as they would for me or you.”
