According to a close source, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been accused of ‘toying’ with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles’ emotions.
Angela Levin, a royal biographer, told Good Morning Britain on Friday, “I think the queen and Prince Charles have missed them much, and therefore Harry and Meghan could wrap them around their tiny fingers and utilise them for commercial gain as they have done previously.”
Levin also speculated that Harry and Meghan’s visit might have been organised after they were chastised for failing to attend Prince Philip’s memorial.
“Their efforts to reach out undoubtedly have something to do with not attending Prince Philip’s funeral ceremony and seeing what the reaction to that was — it was quite unpleasant — and they can’t afford to lose that exposure,” Levin observed.
The remarks come only a day after Prince Harry and Meghan paid a covert visit to the Queen and Prince Charles at Windsor on their way to the Netherlands to participate in the Invictus Games.
The encounter was the couple’s first trip to the UK together since stepping down as senior royals and relocating to the United States in 2020.
It was also the first genuine encounter between Harry and Meghan with the monarch and Charles since their dramatic tell-all with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, in which they appeared to accuse the royal family of making racial jokes about their son Archie.
