The gigs of singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne have been cancelled in Canada “During the tour, there was a positive COVID case.
The 37-year-old singer, who is presently touring in support of her album Love Sux, took to Twitter on Sunday, just hours before she was set to perform in Laval.
“We regret to inform my fans and friends in Laval, QC, Moncton, NB, and Halifax, NS, that these events will be postponed owing to a positive COVID case during the tour and the resulting consequences.

She noted in the statement that the Sunday event at Place Bell in Laval would be rescheduled for May 7, and that new dates for the Moncton and Halifax shows will be announced soon.
The decision to cancel the gigs was taken with everyone’s safety in mind, according to Lavigne, who is best known for the songs Complicated and I’m With You.
