A royal expert says Meghan Markle and Prince Harry would ‘do their own thing’ at the Queen’s upcoming Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Despite being barred from going on the Buckingham Palace balcony, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will aim to generate as much publicity as possible with their children Archie and Lilibet, according to Camilla Tominey, an affiliated editor at The Telegraph.
“There’s nothing to stop the pair freelancing and doing their own thing while they’re in the UK,” Tominey said, adding that while Palace staff may have some control over Harry and Meghan when they’re in the Buckingham Palace.
“That, of course, if they’re seen out and about with their kids, it’ll generate publicity,” she says.
As of now, it is unknown when Prince Harry and Meghan will arrive in the United Kingdom or which ceremonies they will attend.
“Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are pleased and privileged to attend The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations this June with their children,” a representative for the couple said.
