After the Pirates of the Caribbean star reportedly abused his ex-wife, Amber Heard told the court that she chose not to file a police report against him.
On Thursday, the Los Angeles Police Department’s domestic violence coordinator testified by video deposition in the famed slander lawsuit.
On May 21, 2016, the LPD responded to a call at the former couple’s apartment, where Depp allegedly hit Heard, according to Marie Sadanaga.
Sadanaga stated that the police were unable to determine whether the incident had occurred and that Heard had not filed a police report.
The Aquaman told the court during her cross-examination on Thursday that she skipped the complaint because she wanted to “protect” her then-husband.
“I wanted to keep Johnny safe. I didn’t want him to go to jail. I didn’t want him to get into any sort of trouble. I didn’t want the whole world to know about it. Heard told the court, “I didn’t want this to come out.”
