The defamation trial of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard is already in its second week in Virginia.
The couple is in court after the actor sued his ex-wife for $50 million for an opinion article she published in The Washington Post in 2018 claiming she had been the victim of domestic abuse.
Amber is suing for $100 million in retaliation, and the trial is still underway in Fairfax County Circuit Court.
People are now interested in learning more about their marriage, which lasted just over a year. Take a glimpse inside the stars’ enchanting Bahamas wedding…
JOHNNY AND AMBER WED IN 2015
On the set of the 2011 film The Rum Diary, in which they both acted, the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory actor met his future bride.
The actor was still in a relationship with Vanessa Paradis at the time. Shortly after, in 2012, they announced their amicable split.
Johnny and Amber began dating in late 2011 and were engaged in December of that year. In February 2015, they married in a secret ceremony at their Los Angeles home.
They travelled to the Bahamas for a second dream wedding a few days later. Amber filed for divorce in May 2016 after the marriage didn’t last long.
The actress cited irreconcilable differences as the basis for her divorce, according to The Independent.
INSIDE THEIR BAHAMAS WEDDING
Johnny and Amber travelled out to his private Bahamas island, Little Hall’s Pond Cay, for their spectacular wedding with a tiny guest list of only a few of their closest family and friends.
They took their vows for the second time on the beach, under a white arch, with the actress wearing a traditional white long-sleeved wedding gown and Johnny in a white tuxedo jacket.
“Johnny’s personal island is a tropical haven. A source tells PEOPLE that the wedding guests were treated to a great weekend that culminated in a lovely beach ceremony.
“Guests enjoyed relaxing on the beaches, snorkelling, and dining prepared by private chefs. Everyone appeared to be having a great time. “There was a very festive feeling,” they continued.
The “temperature was great” and the “beach backdrop was gorgeous,” according to the insider, who described the entire experience as “beach casual and personal, yet extremely romantic.”
The wedding was not covered by the press, and no images have been released, but drones captured a few moments from afar.

THE ACTOR’S PRIVATE ISLAND
The couple married on Johnny Depp’s own island, which he purchased in 2004 for an astounding $3.6 million.
While filming Pirates of the Caribbean in 2003, he apparently noticed the beautiful, wildlife-filled setting.
The island, known as Little Hall’s Pond Caym, had no infrastructure and only 45 acres of land, with six beautiful beaches named after his closest friends and family.
The island, which is about 60 miles from Nassau in the Exumas archipelago, is environmentally friendly and contains exclusively solar-powered buildings.
