Another strange occurrence. When a lady alleged that Johnny Depp fathered her kid, the actor’s defamation trial against Amber Heard took an unexpected turn.
On Monday, May 23, as the Oscar nominee, 58, and his legal team prepared to leave the courtroom for the morning break, the woman began her tirade. “All of a sudden, this woman… gets up in the back of the courtroom with her infant and screams, ‘Johnny, I love you, our souls are connected,'” according to Law & Crime’s Angenette Levy.
When the Pirates of the Caribbean star turned to wave to the woman, she allegedly told him that he was the father of her child. “She held out the infant and said, ‘This baby is yours,'” according to Levy, who said that the woman was then led out of the courtroom by the deputy.
Because cameras had been turned off for the break, the incident was not captured on the live feed from inside the trial, but Levy tweeted that the woman later told a Law & Crime assistant that she was “joking.”
From February 2015 to January 2017, the Magic Mike XXL actress and the 21 Jump Street actor were married. Heard accused Depp of domestic violence and secured a temporary restraining order against him two days after filing for divorce in May 2016.
“Given the shortness of this marriage and the most recent and painful loss of his mother, Johnny will not reply to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation, and lies about his personal life,” a spokeswoman for the Kentucky native said at the time. Hopefully, the dissolution of this brief marriage will be swift.”
In a deposition taped in November 2019, Depp’s ex-girlfriend Ellen Barkin testified about her relationship with the actor. The Drop Dead Gorgeous actress, 68, and the Hollywood Vampires rocker dated in 1994 and later collaborated together on the 1998 film Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
“He was just a jealous man,” she alleged, adding that Depp would inquire about her whereabouts and who she was with. The Animal Kingdom actress also said that when her boyfriend discovered a scratch on her back, he became “very, very upset.”
“He insisted it was because I had sex with someone who wasn’t him,” Barkin stated, adding Depp was “demanding” and “controlling” during their relationship.
During his libel trial against the Sun newspaper in the United Kingdom, the Black Mass actor refuted Barkin’s charges. In July 2020, he stated, “I do not have an anger control problem.”
