A few months ago, Pakistan’s and Turkey’s biggest media corporations announced intentions to co-produce a television series based on the life of Salahuddin Eyyubi, a revered Muslim general.
Dr. Kashif Ansari’s Ansari Films and Dr. Junaid Ali Shah’s Shah Films have signed a contract for a combined entertainment venture with Emre Konuk, the owner of Turkey’s Akli Films. This excellent project’s executive producers are the well-known actor Humayun Saeed and the well-known Adnan Siddiqui.
The play would be set in the time period of Muslim Leader Sultan Salahuddin Eyyubi. Salahuddin Ayyub was a formidable fighter. He was a Sunni-Muslim Kurd who became the first sultan of both Egypt and Syria and founded the Ayyubid Dynasty. Salahuddin, popularly known as ‘Saladin’ in the West, is one of the most well-known Muslim leaders in the world.
Even before it is released, the series has already attracted a lot of attention. It will be shot in Turkey on historic sets created specifically for the series. And, as the gigantic sets for the drama are being organised, Humayun Saeed, the executive producer of this great series, recently provided insights into the production of the grand endeavour. He captioned the video and posted it on his social media account.
“So glad to share that our team and producers Dr. Junaid Shah and Dr. Kashif Ansari are working extremely hard and efficiently to bring Pakistan’s biggest ever collaboration with Turkey – Salahuddin Ayubi – to life. As you can see, pre-production work is being done very professionally and at a fast pace so Insha Allah you will be seeing this series on your screens very soon. Proud to be associated with this project!”
The auditions for the Islamic warrior series attracted over 6,000 professional and developing actors and actresses. Ushna Shah, Ayesha Omer, Adnan Jilani, and Farhan Agha are said to have been chosen.
