Ray Liotta, the iconic Goodfellas star, has died in his sleep, according to sources.
According to Deadline, the Golden Globe-nominated actor died on Thursday in the Dominican Republic, where he was filming the next thriller Dangerous Waters.

The cause of death was not given by the publication. He was 67 years old at the time.
Liotta’s death was not suspicious, according to TMZ sources, and no foul play is suspected.
Jacy Nittolo, his fiancee, was alongside him when he was filming.
Following the premiere of filmmaker Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas in 1990, where he played former Lucchese crime family member turned rat Henry Hill, Liotta’s career soared to new heights.
Hill’s transformation into an organised crime gang, the one responsible for the epic Lufthansa theft at John F. Kennedy International Airport in 1978, was chronicled in the film.
The gang stole more than $5 million in cash and jewellery from the German airline’s air cargo hangar.
Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Lorraine Bracco starred in this 1990s classic.
After its premiere, it got six Academy Award nominations and one win, making it largely regarded as one of the best films of all time.
He was nominated for an Academy Award for his role as real-life MLB player Shoeless Joe Jackson in the groundbreaking baseball film Field of Dreams a year prior.
The film received three Academy Award nominations, including one for best picture, and is considered one of the most popular sports films of all time.
Field of Dreams, Cop Land, Corrina Corrina, Operation Dump Drop, Unforgettabble, and Blow are just a few of Liotta’s other memorable roles.
His most recent roles include the unnervingly serene Uncle Sal in The Many Saints of Newark and the Apple TV+ series Black Bird.
TRIBUTES TO A GOODFELLA
The news of Liotta’s passing spread fast on social media, with several well-known Hollywood celebrities paying tribute to the late actor.
“I am absolutely crushed to hear this dreadful news about my Ray,” his Goodfellas co-star Bracco tweeted after hearing the news of Liotta’s death.
“People will approach me from all over the world and tell me that their favourite film is Goodfellas. Then they always want to know what the most enjoyable aspect of making the film was. It’s always been the same for me… “Ray Liotta,” says the narrator.
“Ray Liotta has dead,” Jamie Lee Curtis said on Twitter. His work as an actor demonstrated his human complexity. A gentle man. So sad to hear.”
Liotta’s co-star on The Many Saints of Newark, Alessandro Nivola, said he was “fortunate” to work with him in one of his final performances.
“Ray Liotta, rest in peace. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have faced this legend in one of his final roles “Nivola sent out a tweet.
“The scenes we worked on together were some of the most memorable in my acting career. He was a wild, unpredictable, humorous actor who lavished praise on other actors. It was far too soon.”
