Khalilur Rehman Qamar wrote London Nahi Jaunga, which was directed by Nadeem Baig. Baig and Saeed also worked behind the scenes on the drama Sinf-e-Aahan as producers and directors. Filming began two years ago, and the movie was supposed to come out in 2020, however it was postponed owing to Covid.
London Nahi Jaunga is a narrative about a woman named Sara who has always been full of life on the surface but has always felt that there’s something missing from her life until she comes onto her mother Zara’s diary, according to American theatre chain AMC Theatres.
“When she realises that her hometown of London is not where she has always belonged, that her father died in unexplained circumstances, and that her entire maternal family lives in Pakistan, her life is turned upside down. Everything she held dear now appears to be hollow and a falsehood she mistook for the truth. She embarks on a once-in-a-lifetime journey to rediscover her roots and see the site where her parents once lived, only to learn that her mother’s family is completely unaware of her existence
It also said that Sara is seen facing her demons in the film as she confronts her father’s killer but her mother’s enemy wants her dead too. All of a sudden reality smacks her in the face because her own won’t accept her except for her cousin Chaudary Jameel whom she unwillingly leaves to return back to London but leaves her heart behind with her cousin. The question remains if Jameel will follow her to London and bring her back to their homeland and make her feel at home.
According to the website, the film will be released on July 8th and will last for two hours and 35 minutes. In Pakistan, however, the film will be released on a separate date as an Eid release.
