A video of forest officers rescuing a leopard that fell into an open well in Maharashtra has gone viral on social media. On Sunday, Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Susanta Nanda published the undated video on Twitter. With over 16k views and 800 likes, it has subsequently gone viral.
As he is being brought up from the well, a male leopard can be seen howling.
The rescuers dropped a cage into the well, trapped the large cat, and then used ropes to raise the cage.
People were asked to cover exposed wells to keep wild animals out of such perilous circumstances, according to an IFS official. “A male leopard is rescued from an open well in Maharashtra by forest staff. Please cover open wells to protect wild creatures from suffering. “Spread the word,” he wrote on Twitter. Netizens praised the forest workers for successfully rescuing the leopard without causing him any harm.
