HORRIFIC VIDEO: Mother ties daughter with ropes in scorching heat

According to The Hindu,  FIR was filed against a mother from Delhi, India, after a video showing her five-year-old child being tied with a rope and left alone on the terrace in the scorching sun went viral.

The mother was punishing her daughter for failing to do her schoolwork. She bound her hands and legs and forced her to sit alone in the hot heat.

The girl was seen fighting to release herself in the video.

According to DCP Sanjay Kumar Sain, a first information report (FIR) was filed at the Khajuri Khas police station under Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act.

The toddler was only there for a few minutes, according to the girl’s father, Raj Kumar, a 39-year-old tailor. The parents apologised for their behaviour.

“Her mother was trying to teach her but she was running around and playing. Out of frustration, my wife tied her hands and legs and left her on the roof for a short while to punish her,“ The Hindu quoted Kumar as saying.

Kumar further stated that his wife had not eaten in two days due to her anguish over the occurrence. He claimed that the mother was harsh due to the family’s financial difficulties.

“…we are ensuring proper education for our children,” he said.

“We have brought shame to our family, colony, and society […] We might not be able to survive this humiliation,” Kumar told The Hindu.

The father further promised the authorities that the child will be well-cared for by both parents, who will treat the youngster with “respect and patience.”

The Delhi Commission for the Protection of Child Rights has also taken notice of the event, stating that the relevant authorities have been informed and are taking prompt action.
