Major Selfie Camera Upgrades on the Cards for iPhone 14

The selfie camera on the iPhone 14 will not only get a new design, but it will also gain considerable enhancements. The information comes from well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a track record of reliable Apple-related leaks.

This year, he claims, Apple will boost the number of vendors for camera parts. He believes LG Innotek will give Apple with high-quality camera parts, while Chinese manufacturers have reportedly failed to pass Apple’s stringent testing.

As usual, Sony will provide the sensors, while Genius and Largan will provide the lenses. Alps and Luxshare will provide the focus modules.

For the first time ever, according to the expert, the iPhone 14’s selfie camera will have focusing functionality. This will increase image quality over older systems that only allow fixed focus. In comparison to previous generations’ five-part lenses, it will be a six-part lens. It will also include a wider aperture, which will allow more light to enter the sensor for better low-light photography.

In addition, Apple will use 48MP main camera sensors with focusing for the ultrawide camera for the first time. It will also be Apple’s first iPhone to support 8K video, which will slightly increase the camera’s size.
