MG Javed Afridi, the face of Pakistan, is here with another update on MG 3. For the past few years, everyone has been talking about the most anticipated hatchback. When Javed Afridi suggested that MG will release this car for less than Rs. 2 million, it caused a sensation among automotive enthusiasts. Afridi has only asked customers to guess the car’s price three times since then; there hasn’t been any other information released about it.
Now, he has updated MG enthusiasts on the vehicle once more during a question-and-answer session on Facebook. He said, “As promised, it will arrive to Pakistan with a new version,” when someone inquired about the MG 3.
Afridi, however, doesn’t provide a launch date for the MG 3 in Pakistan. So, once more, it is still a mystery, and we are all still in suspense. Additionally, given the state of the auto industry right now, it would be difficult for MG Pakistan to introduce this car for less than Rs. 2 million.
Launching such a car in this price range will be challenging because of the rising currency, record-high freight costs, exorbitant pricing for raw materials, and volatile oil prices. We have yet to see a CKD unit of an MG car, therefore it would only be feasible if MG launched it as locally made automobiles.
However, Afridi asserted that we would start seeing locally made MG cars the next month at the same A&Q session. Let’s wait and see what happens while wishing for the best. Here are the MG 3’s key specifications and features in the meantime.
