Pak vs SL Test Series: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is anticipated to name the national team for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka next week, with the matches taking place in July.
Pakistan was slated to play two Tests and three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) before the Asia Cup, however the ODI leg was cancelled at the request of the Sri Lankan board due to the island country’s economic situation.
The cricket board has also decided to organise a training camp for the national Test squad at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium ahead of the critical series, which starts on June 26.
Following their 1-0 loss to Australia in the Benaud–Qadir Trophy, it will be the national team’s second Test series in 2022. Pakistan is currently ranked fifth in the ICC Test Championship, and this series will be crucial for Babar’s team.
Before the completion of the ICC Test Championship, the Babar Azam-led side will play a three-match Test series against New Zealand and England at home, and if they win these series, they will advance to the final.
Following his strong performance in the National Cup, the selection committee is expected to include experienced leg spinner Yasir Shah in the national side for the Test series against Sri Lanka, according to media reports.
