Pak Vs WI: Why five penalty runs were awarded to West Indies?

Pakistani captain Babar Azam was caught illegally fielding, costing the national side five runs in the second ODI in a three-match series at Multan Cricket Stadium.

Babar wore Rizwan’s keeping glove and caught a ball behind the stumps, according to the details. It happened in the 29th over’s first delivery.

No fielder other than the wicketkeeper is allowed to use gloves or external leg protection, according to cricket rules.


As a result, the umpire awarded the visitors five penalty runs.

It should be mentioned that Pakistan defeated the West Indies by 120 runs in the second ODI to win the three-match ODI series with one match remaining.
