Because Farah Khan is not an MNA, the PTI chairman asks the NAB if a case can be constructed against her.
ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan finally spoke out about the corruption charges against his wife Bushra Bibi’s close aide Farhat Shehzadi alias Farah Khan. He called the case against Farah “absolutely incorrect.”
Imran stated during a news conference in the federal capital on Sunday, “She [Farah] has been in the real estate sector for 20 years.”
He further claimed that his former wife, Jemima Goldsmith, was arrested in connection with the smuggling of historic tiles, and that his current wife, Bushra Bibi, did not have a bank account.
The PTI chairman said that the cases were brought against him in order to damage him, and he reiterated that Farah is innocent.
“It was inferred Farah’s wealth expanded rapidly over three years […] Farah’s real estate business made a lot of money over the previous three years,” he stated.
“The National Accountability Bureau is said to be independent. First and foremost, I inquire as to whether or not a case can be made against Farah Khan.” Imran inquired.
He clarified that the term “wealth beyond recognised sources of income” exclusively refers to those who occupy public office.
Imran went on to claim that the case was built on the fact that Farah’s husband was a union council officer from 1997 to 1999.
“She [Farah] wasn’t even married to him at that time. How did they book her in the case,” he objected.
‘PML-N and PPP will give themselves NRO-2’
Former President Pervez Musharraf gave them the first NRO, the PTI chairman said, mocking the ruling party. He stated that people should be aware of the magnitude of the country’s loss.
He predicted that the PML-N and PPP will “terminate all the charges against themselves,” resulting in much more persecution.
“They [the PML-N and the PPP] would grant themselves NRO-2 in order to put a stop to the corruption investigations against them. Both of them were able to resolve the cases brought against them “he stated
Imran stated that he intends to use the white paper to present the cases against the PML-N and PPP leaders to the public.
He said that all of the charges against these lawmakers date from 2008 to 2018, however there was just one FIR corruption case for Rs16 billion under the PTI rule.
“Abid Sher Ali’s father alleges Rana Sanaullah committed 18 killings,” Imran Khan remarked, criticising Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah.
‘Nothing more embarrassing than Rashid Shafiq’s arrest’
“There is nothing more disgraceful than what they did to Shafiq,” the PTI chairman stated of Sheikh Rashid’s nephew Sheikh Rashid Shafiq’s imprisonment.
He said that party members were attending a prayer ritual when they learned of the incident at Masjid-e-Nabawi PBUH.
“Those who accuse us of ordering hooliganism in Madinah should be ashamed,” he remarked.
He went on to say that the administration is unaware of “how enraged Pakistanis are with them.”
“When they go to people, the same thing will happen to them since half of the country would support PTI after seeing their faces.”
We don’t trust CEC
PTI does not trust Chief Election Commissioner Sikander Sultan Raja, according to Imran, who also believes the CEC would sway the courts.
If the CEC fails to organise elections within 90 days, according to the Constitution, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) must take action, according to Imran.
He also stated that the PTI will videotape peaceful protests in Islamabad, and that families will be present.
