#JusticeForJazlan trended on Twitter on May 24, 2022, as netizens demanded justice for Jazlan Faisal Sabir, a 19-year-old guy who was allegedly shot dead in Bahria Town Karachi by four teenagers after an argument. Meanwhile, Shah Mir Ali, Jazlan’s friend who was with him at the time, was severely hurt and is recovering after two operations.
According to reports, Jazlan Faisal Sabir and Shah Mir Ali, along with a group of pals, were on their way to Bahria Town Karachi for a group study session when they came across an underage motorbike performing acrobatics and nearly collided with him.
Jazlan Faisal rolled down the car window and questioned the underage rider why he was riding his motorcycle in such a dangerous manner, and the young lad began abusing him, resulting in a heated exchange of words between them, and the biker then proceeded to call his brothers.
Meanwhile, Jazlan and Shah Mir drove away, but they observed that the biker and some individuals in a car were following them. The suspects in the car overtook their vehicle and opened fire on them as they approached the Eiffel Tower in Bahria Town.
Jazlan Faisal Sabir was shot in the head as a result, while Shah Mir Ali was gravely injured. Many people witnessed the incident and transported Jazlan and Shah Mir to Aga Khan University Hospital, where Jazlan died while receiving treatment. However, Shah Mir Ali survived after two surgeries and is currently in recovery.
On the complaint of the victim’s uncle, Arif Sabir, a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against Hasnain Faiz and three brothers (Mohammed Ihsan alias Ahsan, Mohammed Irfan, and Mohammed Hasnain) under Sections 302, 324, and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Hasnain Faiz has been captured, according to the police, and operations are underway to apprehend the remaining three suspects. All of the suspects were minors, according to Malir SSP (Investigation) Arab Mahar, and he did not believe they had a licence for the pistol.
