ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), urged his supporters to march in the streets tomorrow in celebration of the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s decision calling the deputy speaker of the Punjab Assembly’s decision “illegal” and establishing Pervez Elahi as the new chief minister of Punjab.
According to the court’s brief ruling, Elahi was legitimately elected Punjab’s chief minister after receiving 186 votes to Hamza’s 179.
Taking to Twitter, the former prime minister said: “I appreciate our SC judges for standing firm and upholding the Constitution and law, against all manner of threats and abuse.”
