As a result of an agreement struck by the parties involved in the case, the Sindh High Court dismissed the appeal contesting the directives to exhume renowned TV personality Aamir Liaquat Hussain‘s body for an autopsy on Thursday.
Ahmed Aamir and Dua Aamir, Hussain’s children, had filed a complaint against the exhumation orders made by the East judicial judge and requested their annulment. However, the high court had delayed the orders and requested that the parties submit their arguments over the plea.
The police informed the court during today’s hearing that a second police surgeon had examined Hussain’s body from the outside on June 10, a day after he passed away, and had concluded that an external inspection was insufficient to determine the cause of death.
In response to the judicial magistrate’s directives, the complainants should go before a sessions court rather than the high court directly, according to Justice Iqbal Kalhoro.
After the parties in the case came to an agreement, the court later dismissed the plea.
Dania Malik becomes party in case
Abdul Ahad, a citizen, had initially made a request in the judicial magistrate’s court for Hussain to be exhumed and undergo a postmortem in order to determine the cause of his demise.
Dania Malik, Hussain’s third wife, just joined the case as a party and made the same demand as Ahad.
Syeda Bushra Iqbal, the deceased televangelist’s ex-wife, claimed in unofficial media reports that Dania did this merely to divert attention from claims that she was the cause of Hussain’s death.
It is important to note that Hussain’s pornographic movies went viral weeks before he passed away. In videos where he appeared to be quite concerned, he even denounced the individuals who were distributing these videos and questioned why the cybercrime wing did not take them down.
Aamir Liaquat’s death
Hussain was discovered unconscious on June 9 at his residence in Karachi’s Khudad Colony and sent in critical condition to a private hospital.
The PTI MNA, 50, reportedly experienced chest pain the previous evening but declined to visit the hospital. Javed, one of his staff members, reported hearing Hussain cry in the morning.
When the TV personality’s domestic staff did not hear back from him, they broke down the door to his room. When he was brought to the hospital, the staff reported that he had already passed away when he arrived.
