KARACHI: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast on Tuesday that areas of Karachi would experience heavy rain and thunderstorms this evening.
According to specifics provided by the PDM, the monsoon system is anticipated to intensify and areas of Karachi may experience evening showers and thunderstorms.
The PDM has indicated in the weather advisory that there is a risk of urban flooding in Karachi, Thatta, and other regions of the province. Additionally, it is advised against going deep sea fishing between August 10 and August 14.
Due to the anticipated intense rainstorm in the port city, the local authorities have been warned to exercise caution.
Yesterday, there were scattered, mild to moderate raindrops in Karachi and the Shaheed Benazirabad divisions.
In Karachi, the highest rainfall totals were recorded at Gulshan Hadeed (47 mm), Quaidabad (43 mm), Jinnah Terminal (20 mm), M. O. S. (9.3 mm), P.A.F. Faisal Base (7 mm), Saadi Town (6 mm), Met Complex University Road (2.9 mm), Korangi (2.2 mm), P.A.F. Masroor Base (2 mm), and Keamari (1 mm 13mm in Sakrand and 1mm in Sh. Benazirabad.
