According to News reports, a passenger plane operated by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) nearly avoided a severe accident when its tyres blew during landing at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.
The ATR jet, which was flying from Gwadar to Karachi, was carrying 60 passengers, according to details. The captain was informed by an air traffic controller that he had seen some rubber bits on the runway.
Before landing at Karachi Airport, the pilot issued a warning to the air traffic controller. The pilot, on the other hand, displayed their professional skills and capabilities by landing the plane safely on the runway.
The plane’s passengers and crew members were all unharmed. According to News reports, one of the tyres was ruptured during the engineer’s inspection.
According to a PIA official, the captain was told about the tyre burst by a Gwadar air traffic controller. “It’s possible that something on the Gwadar Airport runway damaged the tyre,” stated the spokeswoman. An investigation has been initiated following the occurrence.
Earlier this month, a PIA flight destined for Jeddah made an emergency landing at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport minutes after departing from Lahore Airport due to cracks in the plane’s windscreen.
