After the court issued a stay order against the orders for the exhumation of the televangelist’s body, Aamir Liaquat Hussain’s ex-wife, Dr. Bushra Iqbal, became distraught.
The orders to exhume Hussain’s body for an autopsy to determine the reason of his death were suspended by the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday.
Following the hearing, Bushra was seen wiping away her emotions while her attorney addressed the media. Her children, Ahmed Aamir and Dua Aamir, who submitted the argument contesting the judicial magistrate’s order, were with her.
The lawyer, Zia Awan, said that Hussain’s body had been viewed twice by the responsible magistrate following his death, despite the fact that the police had found no evidence of foul play.
“An autopsy wasn’t performed on Benazir Bhutto as per her family’s wish,” Awan said.
The attorney added that Hussain passed away as a result of depression and that his family would file a lawsuit against those who contributed to it.
