Veteran Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon and his longtime girlfriend Emma McCarthy got married. Nearly five years into their relationship, the couple announced their engagement in 2021. In Australia, they eventually got married in a private ceremony. After the wedding, the 34-year-old shared the photos on Instagram.
Congratulations to the newlyweds were extended by Sean Abbott, Peter Siddle, Matt Renshaw, Mitchell Swepson, former pacer Brett Lee, Alex Carey, Josh Inglis, and Chris Green, among other Australian national team and domestic teammates of Lyon.
Following his divorce from his first wife, Melissa Warring, in 2017, Lyon entered into a second marriage. Harper Lyon and Milla Ellen, two daughters from his first marriage, continue to live with their mother.
Since then, Emma, a real estate agent, has been seeing the offie and has been seen supporting him in stadiums and at Cricket Australia functions. Lyon labelled the picture, “Mr and Mrs.”

Following left-arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya, who played in just the second game and had statistics of 12/177 on debut in the longest format of the game, Lyon was the second highest wicket taker in the two games of Australia’s recent 1-1 drawn Test series against Sri Lanka.
The third-highest wicket-taker for his team, Lyon has appeared in 110 Test matches for Australia. The late great leg-spinner Shane Warne, who leads the list with 708 wickets and is also the second-highest wicket taker in Test cricket history, and former pacer Glenn McGrath, who has 563 wickets to his credit, are ahead of Lyon with 438 wickets each.
Australia’s subsequent Test matches, which will take place at home during the 2022–23 domestic season and are a part of the World Test Championship cycle 2021-23, will be against the West Indies and South Africa. After losing to Sri Lanka in the second Test, Australia recently dropped to second place, trailing South Africa.
