Misael Sanchez, age 29, is said to have been pummelling by rival players and spectators in the horrible incident that happened on July 10.
According to reports, a dispute over a referee’s ruling precipitated the large-scale brawl that took place at Oxnard High School.
Sanchez, who is from the nearby city of Port Hueneme, was attacked by many people and left helpless on the field.
He was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center in a very critical condition, and he stayed there for the next fifteen days.
But on July 25, his family delivered the heartbreaking news that the 29-year-old had passed away.
His death’s cause hasn’t been determined yet, but an autopsy is scheduled for July 26.
Sanchez’s family has started a GoFundMe account, and its initial $20,000 target has been reached in less than 24 hours.
His father Guadalupe wrote on Gofundme page, “It is with a heavy heart to share the passing of our beloved son, Misael Sanchez”.
My family is devastated and still in shock because we had high hopes for him. On July 10, 2022, Misael was attacked by several attackers and is currently in severe condition.
We weren’t prepared for this kind of farewell. We are now in need of your prayers, and any financial assistance would be greatly appreciated. The gifts will support the family during these trying times.
