Inam Butt, Pakistan’s top wrestler, earned a silver medal for his nation on Friday in the Men’s Freestyle 86kg competition at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham despite losing the final match to an Indian opponent.
After a competitive match between Inam and Punia of India, the Pakistani player was defeated 3-0 by the Indian since he was unable to score.
Inam won his match against South Africa’s Edward Lessing by a score of 5-3 to advance to the gold medal match with Punia.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Inayat Ullah defeated Scotland’s Ross Connelly to win his country’s bronze medal in the men’s free style 65-kg wrestling competition.
It should be noted that Inam earned a gold medal for Pakistan at the 2010 Commonwealth Games when he defeated Anuj Kumar of India in the championship match.
