Oppo debuted a simple 4G smartphone for the Thai market last month, and now the same phone is coming to India. It’s called the Oppo A57 4G, and it’s a less expensive variant of the A57 5G.
According to insiders speaking to RootMyGalaxy, the Indian launch should be made official in the coming days, with online sales scheduled to commence on June 21 (Tuesday). While it will be available online (via Oppo.com and certain shops), this gadget is expected to be primarily sold in stores.
The anticipated price is INR 13,500, which is little higher than the Thailand price (but that is likely due to different taxes). The phone was launched in Thailand with a tiny pre-order discount, so early birds may be able to buy it at a lower price.
So, how does the Oppo A57 4G perform? It replaces the Dimensity 810 with the less powerful Helio G35, and memory is cut in half – 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage – compared to the 5G model (eMMC 5.1). The 90Hz refresh rate is also lost on the 6.56″ HD+ panel. The cameras on both phones are the same – 13MP primary plus 2MP depth on the back, and 8MP on the front.
