The country’s judicial system is under jeopardy, Imran Khan

Imran Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), warned on Wednesday that the country’s legal system is in jeopardy because of the new government in charge.

During a meeting of the PTI’s Rawalpindi chapter’s executive council in Islamabad, the former prime minister claimed that his successor, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, syphoned off Rs16 billion in his servants’ names, and that whenever the investigation agencies began questioning any of those servants, they died.

According to the PTI chairman, a country is administered on the basis of strong institutions that prioritise justice and the rule of law. He did add, however, that with the coming of the current government, the rule of law has come to an end, since there is a different law for the rich and a another law for the poor.

“There is no justice in the country; employees of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) are afraid, so only the judiciary can salvage the situation,” said Khan.

While labeling the incumbent government as a “blackmailing mafia,” the PTI chairman alleged that people are afraid of being “threatened” if they take action against the rulers.

“This is the country’s largest crisis, and the country’s legal system is in jeopardy.” “Those who should be catching the thieves are saving themselves,” Khan remarked.

The PTI leader further alleged that journalists and media outlets were being threatened, and that he was the subject of eight first information reports (FIRs).
