
The illicit smuggling of rare cheetah lizards valued Rs 200 million was foiled by the wildlife department.
Two suspects in the smuggling of rare lizards have also been apprehended, according to the Wildlife Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
During the operation at Mansehra Toll Plaza, 15 rare cheetah lizards were retrieved from the truck, according to a forest department spokeswoman.
Leopard gecko lizards were smuggled out of the country. During questioning, the accused revealed that the lizards were captured in Abbottabad and Havelian’s highlands and forests. Under the Wildlife and Biodiversity Act, a case has been filed against the accused.
