WhatsApp to introduce an undo button for deleted messages

WhatsApp allows users to securely erase messages in their chats as well as messages sent to others. However, you can only picture the terror that would fall if you submitted something improper to a group and then unintentionally selected “delete for myself” rather than “delete for everyone” – certainly a double whammy. Thankfully, WhatsApp plans to introduce a deleted message retrieval function, so this may become a thing of the past.

WABetaInfo, one of the most dependable sources for real-time updates on the instant messaging behemoth, discovered the functionality in early testing and showcased it in a new screenshot. When a user hits the “delete for me” option, WhatsApp displays a pop-up at the bottom of the screen asking if they want to undo it, as shown in the image. Users will have a few seconds, similar to other messaging platforms like Telegram, to recover their chats, which they can keep or “destroy for everyone.”

WhatsApp is working on a number of other features as well. The business wants to raise the file-sharing limit to 2GB, up from the current limit of 100MB. With WhatsApp beta version 2.22.13.6, the new functionality, which was first tested in Argentina in March, has finally arrived. It’s being rolled out to testers all across the world, and if you’re interested if you’ve been chosen, try emailing larger files from your device.

WhatsApp has made significant progress in recent weeks, with the addition of capabilities such as editing transmitted chats and the ability to store conversations that have vanished. We don’t know when the option to restore a deleted message will be available in the app, but it should appear before the end of the year.
