WhatsApp has just received a major update, one of the biggest the Meta-owned company has ever released. This massive change affects the number of individuals you can now add to a WhatsApp Group Chat, double the previous limit.
This implies that instead of the previous 256 contacts, users can now include 512 contacts when starting a Group Chat. This improvement was provided as a result of input from fans of the popular app, according to the messaging service’s management.
Start a new Group Chat and then check the “Add Participants” setting at the top of the screen to see if your WhatsApp has been upgraded. If you see 0/512, you’re using the most recent version of the programme. If you’re still seeing 256 participants, make sure you’ve updated WhatsApp via the Android and Apple app stores; it’s also worth mentioning that the chat firm is gradually spreading out this change around the world, so some users may not see it right away.
WhatsApp just added two more capabilities to its platform, including the ability to share larger files, in addition to the Group Chat improvement.
Users could only attach files up to 100MB in size until recently, but that limit has now been raised to 2GB.

Users could only attach files up to 100MB in size until recently, but that limit has now been increased to 2GB.
This means that sending films and huge data across the WhatsApp network will be lot easier now.
WhatsApp went on to say more: “Within WhatsApp, you may now send files up to 2GB in size at a time, all of which are protected by end-to-end encryption. This is a significant increase above the previous limit of 100MB, which we believe would be beneficial to collaboration.”
Finally, WhatsApp has added the ability to react to messages. Users may now rapidly overlay emojis on each conversation bubble, similar to how they do on other chat systems like Apple’s iMessage.
Instead of typing a reply, you can send a quick thumbs up or love heart to a message.
“We’re excited to share that emoji reactions are now available on the latest version of the app,” the firm added. “Reactions are fun, fast, and they reduce overload in groups too. We’ll continue improving them by adding an even broader range of expressions in the future.
