In Indonesia, Wuling has officially unveiled the Air electric vehicle (EV). SAIC Motors and General Motors collaborated on the development of this micro-EV (GM).
Wuling’s Air EV is the company’s first worldwide product. Honguang Mini-EV was the Chinese EV maker’s first micro-EV, and it immediately became China’s best-selling car.
In terms of performance and features, the Wuling Air EV outperforms the Honguang Mini-EV. It has a front-mounted single electric motor with 40 horsepower (hp) and a top speed of 100 km/h. It has a range of roughly 300 kilometres thanks to its Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery.
According to Wuling, the new GSEV platform includes internet connectivity, driver assistance systems, parking assistance, voice control, and other modern conveniences. It comes in both long-wheelbase and short-wheelbase versions. The long-wheelbase version can seat four people, whereas the short-wheelbase version can only seat two.
In Indonesia, the Air EV will be available as a locally produced automobile with prices starting at Rs. 1.7 million and up to Rs. 2 million.
Wuling intends to take Air EV worldwide, with the goal of making Indonesia its distribution base for the Indo-Pacific and Middle Eastern regions, which might be good news for Pakistan.
